3 days in 4 hours!

We had just left Friday with its feet up relaxing after a hard day doing whatever it is that days do, and welcomed back Saturday on board. We were discussing with Saturday the rumour that Tuesday & Thursday have started a relationship, when suddenly he got up left and in came a smiling Sunday pleased at seeing us again so soon. Was it our smell after 4 days in 32=BAC plus and no shower, or was it that he was off to get the truth from that naughty minx Thursday whom I know he has a soft spot for? Nope, it was due to us crossing the International Dateline! As I have mentioned in a previous blog, the dateline is where the Eastern & Western Hemispheres meet exactly opposite Greenwich in London where they originate. In order that it is daytime whilst the sun is out through out the world, every 15=BA East of Greenwich is an hour earlier, and every 15=BA West is an hour later. So as we crossed 180=BA on one side it was 03:30 Saturday Morning (11 hours behind London), and a mere 2 metres away was 02:30 Sunday morning (12 hours in front of London)!! That meant between 23:30 and 03:30 last night we experienced the company of Friday, Saturday & Sunday! So sorry for cutting our time together a bit short this week Saturday, but am looking forward to seeing you again next week and hope all goes well with Thursday! As a reward for welcoming Sunday a day early she is being particularly nice to us today. It's just glorious here at the moment, the sun is out, the sea as flat as a pancake and we are charging through the passage at 7 knots. Within 23 miles of our present position we can clearly the 6 gorgeous Islands of Nairai, Gau, Batiki, Wakaya, Cakau Momo & Nakondu. They are spread 360=BA round us and just simply stunning, I hope the photos I've just taken will do them justice. We have a little over 60 miles left to Suva (our destination in Fiji) so hope to arrive around 22:00 tonight. The only dampener to what is so far a lovely day, is that probably as a result of taking the mickey out of Gapy yesterday I managed to chip one of my back teeth last night! Although the actual tooth does not hurt my tongue is constantly rubbing the jagged edge cutting into it and making it quite sore - much to Gapies amusement! So a trip to the dreaded dentist is in store for me. Still Gapy and I are going to have a game of BRIDGE tonight, with the winner getting a golden CROWN and a sandwich with their favourite FILLING!!!! Finally again in response to yesterdays blog Gapy (I think I'd better go back to calling him Mr A before I crack another tooth) and Neil both landed fish today! Mr A caught a whopping Mahi Mahi, and Neil a lovely Tuna - well done boys beer battered fish & chips with mushy peas for dinner tonight, I might even do the washing up aswell!!!!!
