Elvis has left the building!

Nic
Another beautiful day in the pacific! Well the wind has been pretty much like my mothers balance since yesterday - up & down! Just after writing yesterday's blog we hoisted all the sails again and were flying along at 8.5 knots on course. As the day turned to night the wind decided to ease, and by this morning we had the cruising chute and mizzen staysail up and flying, creeping along at only 4 knots. We have now got caught in the centre of high pressure system, have dropped the sails and are again motoring towards NZ - although with only 250 miles of fuel left and 650 miles left to go I hope the wind picks up soon! Em continues to feel better & better and is almost back to her usual self, and Phil is much relieved - the change in environment, a change of diet and trying to use the heads (toilet) in a rolling and pitching sea have left him feeling slightly bunged up since we left. I can only assume all is back to normal now as we could all hear him shouting "YESSSS, Elvis has left the building!!" during his morning ablutions, although quite what I'm going to do with the Castor Oil & Prune soup I made for lunch I don't know!!! The weather shows that the wind should pick up at some point during the next 12 hours, albeit from the South (the direction we are heading in), which will make progress a tad difficult, but heh ho that's sailing!
