Just said goodbye to dear friends , Sandy and Rebecca Shapery and await the arrival of my brother Mike. We crossed from Honolulu three days ago in pleasant seas with steady winds up to 14 knots and spent. Day and a half at Hanalei Bay were we went for a helicopter ride over Kauai and saw spectacular sights.
The crossing went smoothly with Gizmo pacing the wind speed of 14+ knots.
We are still sorting out the usual last minute issues of a newly commissioned boat and will remain close to major ports until captain Paul gives the nod she's ready for the next leg: Savusavu, Fiji.
