Regatta Pointe Marina
28 April 2013 | Palmetto. Fl.
After the work was done, I then moved the boat to Regatta Pointe Marina, Palmetto, where I worked on her, assisted by Murray Hoffman, whom I'd been traveling around the States with for a few months, looking at boats, etc. While staying in the marina, I met a lot of very kind and helpful folks who pointed me in the right direction.
I also met Sherman and Judy Sundin, who had lived about 15 minutes away from me in Australia, also having bought a sailboat, heading off in the same direction I was.
During that time, I flew back to Australia, to see my boys for a few days.
Upon my return, I finished up what I could, on the boat. I serviced the engine and had a 85amp alternator installed, keeping the original one as a spare. I also got a spare starter motor. I realized, at this stage, that it is a never ending project and that if you wait until you have got the boat just right, you'll never leave the dock.
