Boqueron
29 April 2013 | Puerto Rico
Hind sight.
If the free tow had not been available, I would have waited out in the Mona Passage, until the morning trades picked up. I would then have been able to sail in a SE'ly direction to the entrance to Boqueron, and then tacked into the bay and anchored. So it was all under control.
Boqueron was dead quiet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday it picks up and Friday and Saturday, it hops! Very much a week end town. We hired a car and drove up the coast as far as Rincon. One of the more famous surfing spots. Lots of surfers and others hang out here.
In Boqueron, on the weekend, there are a lot of food stalls and bars, kinda in the street. Very festive! We had dinner in one of the restaurants and Jeremie and Sherry were feeding huge Tarpon right next to the table.
