2:47am. The 4.7 easterly lightly fills the sails. The purring of the engine in the background. 8 fishing boats dotted around us. The red moon rising. The peace of the nightshift...
Today was a busy day. A day of celebrating the wonder of the ocean and bringing a gift to King Neptune. We all had preparations to do before we crossed the equator. It would be our fourth equator crossing during our trip, but also our last. Muffins were baked, crowns were cut, drawn and glued, magic potion was prepared, steaks were braaied, and finally the crossing ceremony started! We all stood on deck, and Johannes gave King Neptune the magic potion with shouts and jumps of delight from himself and Dirk. Even Lelei could feel the excitement of the moment, and gave her brothers her best smile. Then the race was on to be first at the muffin plate!
