Pretty close to paradise!
12 June 2013 | Direction Island
Today we find ourselves anchored in crystal clear blue water, with white palm beaches and swaying palm trees…pretty close to paradise I would say.
We anchored this morning at 7am, with seven Blacktip reef sharks coming to greet us. The captain and crew all jumped around to get Goody looking her best after 13 days at sea. All to be ready for visit from customs and immigration officials. However, when all was ready and we called them on the radio, we were told their boat is out of the water today, so they cant come to this island, maybe tomorrow. In the meantime we can go to shore on Direction Island, where we are anchored now. It’s a remote island with no-one living there. That was just the news the boys wanted, and they jumped at the opportunity to get to land, and off they went in the kayak, with a bag of goodies including biscuits, water and ball. Shortly we will join the expedition exploring the island and the reefs.
Maybe we will end the day swimming with dolphins…apparently they come late afternoon.
