NEW YORK, NY - September 24, 2014 - On Wednesday, September 24th at approximately 10:00 am, Victor Mooney, the transatlantic rower en route to New York from the coast of Africa, departed Aguadilla, Puerto Rico aboard his 24-foot boat, The Spirit of Malabo. Victor will begin a daunting 152 mile row straight to Samana, Dominican Republic, where he will rest, replenish supplies and advocate for AIDS awareness before attempting to reach the mainland United States.
