Graces' maiden Voyage
Grace was completed late August 2009 in Ontario Ca. I trailered her up to her new home in Santa Cruz and took a week to set up her rig and check her out. Capt'n Dave Kautz graceously agreed to assist in her first shake down day sail out to the wreck of the USS Thompson and up to the San Mateo Bridge. Dave is a great skipper, helping in launching the new boat, turning up with spare sail ties and sail stops which I hadn't had time to pick up. (No wonder he's 3 time winner of the anual Trailer Sailor Cruiser Challenge!) We came across Mike Higgens in Lia's Bullseye who took some photos of us crossing the south bay. Thanks to Graces' excellent performance most pictures are great shots of her transom! ;-)
