We left Israel for Turkey in early May of this year and had a safe albeit bumby trip to Kekova Roads, Turkey. After a few day respite we sailed to Kastellorizon Greece and then onto Kas Turkey to check in We certainly enjoyed our stay here but we had to get on to Marmaris for chandelery supplies and minor repairs. Man was it hot. We spent three weeks in Marmaris and the average daily temperature was 45 degree C. Thanks goodness the nights were much cooler. All repairs made we now could begin the season or so we thought. We sailed to Symi and got stuck there due to gale force winds for 1 week. Life could be worse. Then we went on to Leros and spent another week sitting out a gale. Then onto Lipsi where we entered Meltemi hell. We clocked gusts of 50! The holding was less than adequate so we spent two nights on anchor watch (had our own drag experiences several times during the day) We finally got a break in the weather after 10 days and sailed directly to Nauissa, Paros. What a wonderful, safe anchorage to spend a Meltemi. Also the town is great. In addition, we were able to take a ferry to Santorini and leave the boat on anchor. The trip to Santorini was superior. After a 10 day stay we headed directly for Syros where we have been ever since. Gale after gale. Force 8 and then some. We feel we may never get out of here. It is our sincere hope that we get a break in this weather in a few days and we get get moving. We would really like to get to Rome but if this weather persists we may have to consider looking for a winter location right here in Syros. Wind blown, gusty and rearin to go. More to come

Greetings from Israel
