EVS: sunny and cool
After our last entry, we had family join us for a week. Erik, Catherine, Andrew, Rebecca, and baby Justin flew to Marsh Harbor and we took them to south of Snake Point, Tilloo Cay, Tahiti Beach, Hope Town, and then back to March Harbor. We had a variety of weather -- sunny days, some light winds, some no winds; beach time, swim time, and all in all, people seemed to enjoy themselves. Justing, however, sensing a change in location and an opportunity beconing, decided to keep his parents -- Mom especially -- awake at night, so we suspect all went home looking forweard to a vacation from the vacation. It was brave of them to come along, with three little children, and into an unknown area, and an unusual environment. (Erik had boated as a kid, but not Catherine; this was pretty alien, we are sure.) Nonetheless, all survived, even Grandma and Grandpa.
After they departed, we reprovisioned, did loads of laundry, and got ready to wrap up the rest of our trip in the Bahamas. One day, we rented a car and drove to the southern end of Great Abaco and had a delicious lunch at Nancy's restaurant, then toured spots en route back north and went beach coming at Crossing Rocks. A nice change of pace and scenery, despite the rain.
We now are anchored at Cherokee Point awaiting an early departure for the Berry Islands tomorrow. After that, we will cross the big Bahama Bank and then the Gulf Stream to FL. We will decommission Gratitude on the west coast again; but we are not thinking of that yet!
