Well the old Chrysler-Nisson 100hp finally bit the dust. Full of sea water there was just no way we could get it started and move confidently along on our adventure. Deciding to bite the economic bullet, we had the boat towed to Anchor Marine on the Miami River. The highly professional staff (of whom I am extremley impressed) will pull out the old, and install a brand new Yanmar 110hp engine. Peanut butter and jelly will probably be on the menu for a while, but our spirits are good and we will "endeavor to persevere"!
Instead of heading for the Bahamas, we've decided to move through the Florida Keys and work our way up to possibly Ft. Meyers. There we can wait till Fall, and maybe find jobs flipping burgers to pay down the credit card debt (oh the life of retirement! :) Once Fall returns we can work back through the Keys to the Bahamas, and eventualy down to Bonaire.
All is well. We're just hanging out at the boat yard for a couple of weeks!
