Summer Home

After entertaining the patrons at the Sombrero Marina Dockside, we found the local characters to be friendly and accomodating. Roy, the marina manager offered us a great deal for the summer and convinced us to stay. Anna was satisfied with the local hurricane strategy, and the next thing you know, we're Marathon residents till the Fall. Can't complain about the accomodations. Everything the Keys have to offer is here without the overboard "touristy" atmosphere. We're less than fifty yards from the bar / restaurant (excellent safety strategy), and Wednesday night is "prime rib night"! I've taken up "fishing", and have done a great job of losing bait and tackle! We've been in Florida for about five months and finally had our first manatee sighting (I was beginning to think they were a local myth!). Weather is hot, but the AC is keeping us cool. Plenty of ice in the cooler provides us with a thirst quenching amber libation as we enjoy the sunsets, and listen to the live music nightly from the dockside grill. Life is GOOD, and we have settled in....... Maybe we'll dive, hit the beach, or just relax and enjoy a cold one!
