Getting ready to go

Grey Dove is nearly ready to go! Not so sure about me...
This spring I moved the capshroud chain plates outboard and forward to give a better leverage on the mast and to allow the boom more rotation. This should help when off the wind.
During a gale off the South rock light the steering slipped a couple of times so I have uprated the whole cable system to the largest multiflex available...that should do it!
The last couple of years sailing in the Irish sea have seen us get an unprecedented amount of weed and rubbish on the props. I was forever having to dive on the hull to clear balls of weed so I have fitted disc cutters. Fingers crossed. I blame the prawn fishing boats myself, we seemed to pick up the most weed when crossing their wake, I guess because they rake the seabed and the weed floats to the surface a couple of cables astern.
