Going well
05 July 2017 | Le Guilvinec
DavidH Sunny wind earlier
The forecast was for a stiff easterly for the first part of the morning and so it proved. getting out of La Palais straight into a stiff chop and getting the sails up was not fun, however, once set, Grey Dove did what catamarans do best, beam reaching in a good breeze. Wowee, for three hours I hung onto the tiger's tail and we made 20 miles, just like that, passing the planned bail-out, Ile De Groix in no time. Then the wind went to a glassy calm but we had covered so much ground that it was worth motoring on. I had to dodge around to the West of the Iles De Glenan, missing a one meter sunfish (Mola Mola) by a couple of feet and making the fishing port of Guilvinec by the early afternoon, another great 50 mile run.
