During this trip home from France I became increasingly tired (and tetchy) until by the time we left Wells I was really struggling. It is to the credit of my sailing companion, Chris Mitchel that he persevered and helped get myself and Grey Dove back to Fife despite my reluctance to sail overnight (which I normally love and often prefer) and increasing grumpiness and Chris' brief interlude with concussion from a crack on the bonce from a genoa sheet.
Two weeks after getting home I was diagnosed with a cancerous lesion on my bowel which explains a lot, including the delay in writing up this blog. Having made a full recovery following surgery, chemotherapy (and a new left hip while we were at it) I am now attempting catch up a whole year later. Memory lapses apart, interpreting Chris' handwriting in the log is a major part of the challenge, especially as he cannot read some of it himself,,,,,
