We Clear the Channel

Having left Ramsgate after the enforced rest we sailed NE in excellent weather, staying close inshore at first to avoid a foul tide and being rewarded with some great views such as this lighthouse nestling in the woods.

A psychological target was soon attained; getting round North Foreland. This meant that we had escaped from the Channel and could point the bows North at last. Next would be crossing the Thames Estuary......
