Arrived Everglades City this evening after being off the grid cruising last 3 days. Everything is all I hoped for and more. Pristine beaches, aqua blue water, endless mangroves. Boat is working fine. Got in some good sailing under full sail though still mostly motorsailing due to unfavorable and light winds. Tom and Frank are great crew and loving the cruising life. Peace, JJ
Jim and John motored from Belhaven NC arriving Beaufort NC Jan. 15 with a stopover in Oriental. Greeted at dock by Tom D. "Nepanthe" who we first met in Norfolk and then rafted up together at Tuckahoe Pt. Arrived Beaufort just before a major storm (as foreseen) including 40+ knots wind pushing us onto the the dock dead abeam all night. We secured the boat with Tom D's help and then all awoke to sunny skies and calm seas. Jim and John took a launch over to the Rachel Carson Reserve across from the dock and mingled with the wild horses. John got off the boat Jan. 17 to head home for a break after more than 2 weeks on the water. Craig rejoined the boat in Beaufort to take up the relay and continued with Jim to Wrightsville Beach NC just before the next major storm hit. Jim left the boat there to head home in time for winter storm Jonas in NJ. Craig is continuing down the ICW and will be rejoined by John and Jim next week.
We made it to Port Annapolis Marina. Weather could not be better, 50's in Mid December??
