Return to Annapolis
16 July 2015
Well, we had great intentions of going to Saint Michaels today but we tried frist to skirt throught Kent Narrows only to find out that the tide was going out and our draft would not allow us to pass through. It took some patience to get back out of the channel once we found ourselves "bumping".
So....we thought okay....we will go the long way. We were glad we did actually as it allowed us to put out our sails and enjoy some sailing for the day. Going the long way meant sailing right by Annapolis. Before we even got to the bridge I looked up and noticed the seam in our mainsail was ripped or had come apart. Luckily Doyle Sails is in Annapolis and with a quick call we had them on the task of making hopefully an emergency repair.
Obviously Annapolis has not seen enough of us. Hopefully tomorrow we will know the outcome of repair versus replace and either way we will continue our journey as an old friend "one sail" or fully equipped.
