Brght Ayes
21 November 2015
Bright Ayes is a 47 Caliber just as Ti Amo.......her crew are Wayne and Betty Romberg. We developed a relationship from the day we splashed Ti Amo in New Jersey. Wayne was kind enough to offer help when Greg was trying to learn some of the systems on the boat. Being an electrical engineer, it was right up Wayne's alley.
We have stayed in touch and on their way down the ICW through the Chesapeake Bay, they stopped in Jackson Creek and we were able to have dinner together.
Wayne and Betty have been mentors of sorts for us as they have sailed to many a destination (Europe and the Carribean) and having the same boat as us we have some inside knowledge as to where Ti Amo can take us.
We met up with them at the SSCA GAM event and have followed each other to where we are this morning, Fort Pierce. As I mentioned in an earlier post, they are driving home for a couple of weeks and then coming back to head to the Bahamas. We hope to run into them when they return.
That is the one thing about this trip that I have just loved, is getting to know some folks and the calling or texting to check on one another. It is like a community of folks with a common goal all looking out for one another.
