Hard to pull away from the dock and hospitality of Wayne and Betty Romberg. Tying up to Bright Ayes was such a treat.

Wayne and Betty live on the Forked River off of Barnegat Bay. The entrance to Barnegat with an incoming tide is a slam dunk but why not test that theory? Right? One of the tidal apps we had stated the tide at the inlet one hour off. It makes a HUGE difference but Ti Amo is up for the challenge and the captain steers her through some fierce breaking waves. Once safely inside, we are told that the bottom shoals in all the time with the shifting of sand so we are told to call Tow Boat to get a read on the channel markers. There are so many markers, I think most would be confused. Yes we hit hard once and looked at the charts.....we should have been in 12 foot however where the markers wanted us to go we're showing 2.9 feet according to the charts. But what did Tow Boat tell us.......follow the channel markers. It was NUTS.......but we finally found them and how delightful.

Wayne and Greg share a thing about workshops and tools whereas Betty and I like cooking and "projects". We really enjoyed catching up with them.
