After leaving our new favorite anchorage/mooring field, we head further "down east" thinking we may head to Camden or Rockport but that was not to be. We have talked or texted Ed and Jody and they are a couple days out from reaching us. Our friends the Leahys are in Trenton until Saturday and after chatting with them we realize we could head to Nirtheast Harbor and catch up with them before they have to leave. So we adjust our course and head to Stonington Harbor.
The further "down east" we go, the more rock formations there are to navigate around and the more lobster pots it seems as you come into the harbors. We decide to come to Stonington and moor at Billings Diesel and Marine which is right at the mouth of the harbor. Stonington is known as the lobster capital as it ships out more lobster per pound than any other in Maine. The number of lobster boats may attest to that as they parade past us this morning.
Well we are off to Northeast Harbor and hoping to get some connectivity. The further "east" we go, the worse it seems to get. Oh well.....we may have to live "off the grid"for a bit. I will take the scenery and lobster instead!
