Bar Harbor
15 July 2018
With our map in hand after finishing coffee and morning chores we head to the marina parking lot where buses stage to sptake you wherever you wish. Greg and I heard that bus #5 through the Jordan Pond was the most scenic but he had left so we took #6 to Brown Mountain. This bus led us to Brown Mountain, Parkman Mountain, Eagle Lake and finally Bar Harbor.
In Bar Harbor, the streets were full of tourists, restaurants and shops. We walked all the sway down to the Harbor and were amazed at the boats that were moored or anchored there. Part of us wishes we had put Ti Amo in the Harbor, the other is glad we stayed here at Northeast Harbor where it isn't so busy with tourists. Greg did a lot of sitting and watching while I did a lot of browsing the shops. We stopped at a couple of watering holes and enjoyed the local chowdah and a beverage. With the largest grocery store I have seen in a bit, I am determined to get to Hannafords and pick up a few things while Greg sits and enjoys the center of the city.
Back on the bus we head back to Northeast Harbor where Hinckley Yachts is having their charity event under tent. At $50 a person, we choose to watch from the boat as we enjoy dinner and a little planning for our day ahead of us.
