Draken Sighting
22 July 2018
An oceangoing Norwegian warship "Draken"....the longship is equipped with 50 oars. Each oar is powered by two men. Under sail it requires a crew of 30.
Draken Harald HÃ¥rfagre is 115 foot long with a beam of approximately 26 feet. The longship is constructed in oak and is the largest Viking ship built in modern times.
How impressive to have her pass our way and what a lovely sight. She is headed up north making stops along the way.
We are safely anchored in Plymouth Maine I think. We are in the Kittery side which I believe in is the Maine side. We hope to scoot out early in the morning to get to passages further south before getting "stormed in".
