Scituate
25 July 2018
We are back at Scituate preparing for the Cape Cod Canal and Buzzards Bay. There is a trick to making this passage and if you get it wrong ........ well it won’t be pleasant for the captain or the crew.
We got our favorite mooring ball after circling through the field a couple of times waiting for the crew to come put a new line on the mooring. Once secured we grab lunch and then showers before heading into the grocery store. We have provisioned pretty well for our trip, but with thoughts of doing overnights, we wanted to pick up some veggies for pasta salads and some breakfast biscuits.
Okay, didn’t I say we only needed a few things? LOL. We have one Costco bag and two Food Lion bags, stuffed! Back on Ti Amo we are making room in the fridge and cabinets for our new found treasures.
In Scituate you get a launch service with your mooring, so we don’t have to drop the dinghy which is always a perk. We call a second time to Easy Rider to come pick us up for dinner in town. The young lady running the launch is a professional diver and runs her own business during the day cleaning boat bottoms and repairing moorings and such. We had met her the last time we were here.
So with dinner and an ice cream stop, we call it a night and head back to Ti Amo for strategic planning. Okay ..... so that is the captains job.....mine is to throw the warning flags if the crew is not up to the challenge. Thus far we have done pretty well and hope that our decision to leave Scituate for Buzzards Bay proves to be a good one.
And we are off.
