Fairly well on Fairlee Creek
03 August 2018
Out of Chesapeake City we hang a left for the Chesapeake Bay. We feel like we are home already.
We are motoring along as the wind is on our nosetryin to decide on an anchorage for the night. Greg is reminiscing about some areas from years gone by we may want to anchor. The problem arises that these areas are from his youth that don’t have deep enough water for Ti Amo.
We settle with thoughts of Fairlee Creek knowing that the entrance is a squirrelly one. It did not disappoint as we are at the beach before turning and then the entrance is just wide enough and the current strong. No time to think about it......gun it and go. Once in we are anchored in time for the storms to start their way through.
A couple from the marina came by to ask us about the limbs and logs in the water. We have noticed a bit of it but it was not overwhelming to us. They told us about Annapolis closing “Ego Alley” to remove all the debris that had floated into their waterway. We had plans of going there but have since decided to stay on the eastern side of the bay for a bit longer.
Hopefully off to the Wye River today.
