Jensen Beach
09 December 2018
We had a delightful night at Faber Cove and woke up to a beautiful sunny day. It has been gray or cold most of our trip so we are thankful to have this day. Thanks to Rex and Amy for this wonderful Prosecco to help us celebrate the our arrival into warmer temperatures.
With word of a storm approaching, we made arrangements to go into Nettles Marina at Jensen Beach. We have read all the advice off of Active Captain (a program attached to our Blue Charts that tells you where marinas and anchorages are as well as prices and comments from folks who have been to these places) and decided to try the marina in spite of the comments displayed. Was it hectic getiting in? No.....it actually was not bad. Some markers that show on the charts were not there but there were enough markers to know where you were suppose to go and keep you in the channel. I guess the only thing negative we will ever say is that the owner did not have the same sense of urgency as us when it came to giving us a slip assignment. Once we were in and tied up, I realized that this is a “live aboard” marina that does allow for a few transient folks. The people here are super friendly and again after the negative reviews I read on Activie Captain I feared running into them. I don’t use the marina facilities like most but we really did not come here for facilities.....we have our own. They do have washers and dryers, which I will put to use. All in all......we will return to Jensen Beach and enjoy the hospitality of the good folks here. Thank you Robin for reminding me that sometimes it isn’t about what they have as it is about what you need.
Jaxon is enjoying more freedom as he is sleeping now on the floor next to our bed and also allowed off leash around the boat while at anchor (or dock). He is becoming quite the boss these days. I may have to instill “time out” moments.
