All in a day!
18 December 2018
What can I say about a day such as we spent on this day?
First we started off by finishing up my work that I had brought with me. Greg took the time to install drink holders in the dinghy and work on our log book. We made calls for fuel and mobile pump out as well as our rental car.
First thing we had the canvas guy stop by and pick up the two canvas pieces that needed the zipper replaced. Within an hour our pump out was complete. Within another hour we had a call from a mechanic that was going to come and look at our prop issue. We were making progress.
Rental car company is all set for our departure on Wednesday, the zipper needed to be purchased so we handled that, and then the mechanic came by to see if he could help with our leak in the steering quadrant/prop shaft area of the boat.
WONDERFUL guy and his wife showed up.....Terry and Cherrie.....cute as they can be and wow!!!!! He knew his stuff and stood behind his work and willing to come back to check on us again before we make our cross to the Bahamas. He had to dive in the freezing cold water and work from the outside as Greg worked on the inside of the boat. It was a bolt (one of four) that had sheared off that was holding the steering post for the rudder. Water was coming in from the faulty bolt and after securing the parts, he and Greg set out to do the repair.
We had a big day! And Jaxon as you can tell is exhausted from having played with Cherrie and myself while Greg and Terry worked on the boat.
All in a day!
