Lee Stocking Island
09 January 2019
The laundry is done and we are set to leave for Lee Stocking Island. We have never been before but have always heard such great things from folks so we are anxious to get on “the road”.
In order to get there you have to go on the “outside” so we need to transverse Dotham Cut which looks like a small cut in stone at first glance. As we get closer and the angle is better, we can see the opening with which to exit the banks and head to the sound. The waters were not too bad making the exit and we again have a nice lovely sail for the majority of the way to Lee Stocking. We are going in at Adderly Cut which looks a little treacherous, but we manage just fine.
Lee Stocking boasts the highest point of the Exumas and has some similar characteristics to the Jumentos. The beaches are beautiful and the water is a gorgeous blue. We are anxious to take Jaxon to a beach as he has yet to step in the surf.
Two Outrageous and Dagny are awaiting our arrival as we make or snake our way back to the anchorage. Within moments the anchor is set and Greg has dropped the dinghy. Paul came over to say hello and we all agree to meet up after we get settled. Paul, Laurie, Allan and Bev are heading out to snorkel and lobster hunt. We put on our swimsuits and head to the beach with Jaxon.
Words nor cameras can capture the mischief in his little eyes and the look of “what do I do now”? He races the shore line of the beach....back and forth as I pretend to chase him. Sand is flying everywhere....it is like he cannot run fast enough. He stops and sniffs at things on the beach and then I went into the water and called him. To our surprise ........ he jumps in and swims the entire way out. We both are in amazement. He is having a great time and we are only hoping he as excited about his bath when he get back to the boat. The sand and salt are not very friendly to him. He had a big day and after appys on Two Outrageous, he was gone for the night. EXHAUSTED!!!!
