Santana’s with Friends
25 January 2019 | Kidd Cove, Georgetown
We have been stuck on the boat for the better of two days so today we have elected to rent a van with our friends Ron, Vicky and Ruby on Twilight Traveler. We called and secured the van early. Greg was picked up at the Exuma Market while Janek, Jen, Jaxon and I went walking through the town.
By the end of our walk we see Greg approaching the market. We load up and head to The Marina at Emerald Bay where Twilight Traveler is tied up. With Ruby, Vicky and Ron tucked in safely we begin the trip......and......what’s a trip to Santana’s from Emerald Bay without stopping for a beer at the liquor store. Let the fun begin.......we make a couple of beer stops and bounce our way to Santanas. We love the lobster and the grouper there and of course there is Mom’s Bakery next door and that is the icing on the cake.
Once at Santana’s we place our orders......5 lobsters and 1 grouper. It does not disappoint. It was as good as we remembered and Jen and Janek loved it. We head to Mom’s bakery after pictures and pick up some banana bread, coconut bread and white bread. Mom is doing great at 86 years old.
Back in the car we go and we head to the Tropic of Cancer for Jaxon to take that walk that Chewie loved so much. Ruby and Jaxon are freed of their leashes. Ruby enjoys the water and sand while Jaxon just walks around the pavilion. Once all clean and the energy expelled, we head back down the bumpy road to the main highway. “Main highway” is the term used but it is a two lane country road with more pot holes than most localities report in a ten year period.
We part with Twilight Traveler and head back to Georgetown to pick up provisions and head back to Ti Amo. A lovely night with a light dinner complete with Mom’s bread and marble cake. Off to bed as tomorrow we will head to Lee Stocking Island.
