Santa Maria Beach Resort
03 February 2019 | Joe’s Sound
With one more day to wait before departing, 2 Outrageous and Ti Amo go on a dinghy ride through the mangroves and in the back way to the Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort.
It was a ride full of fun and adventure as there were spots that were less than two feet deep. The real fun was getting under and through a bridge that stood maybe four foot off the water and the rage of the water going through was scary. Even Jaxon ducked his head. Once through that we were home free and at the resort. Tim and Karen on Grace V came in the front way and joined us for a nice (muddy) walk. It had rained earlier in the morning providing Ti Amo with a much needed bath. After our walk we sit outside the restaurant and take in a nice lunch under the umbrella clad tables. We discuss our plans and decide due to weather we will not head to Conception but go straight to Clarencetown, Long Island and then on to the Acklins. All plans are subject to change.
Greg helps out a fellow cruiser with giving some water up so that they can stay at Joes Sound another week and then we head to see Delphina. Delphina is a 49 Hylas sailed by Kristoff and Stacey out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After leaving them, we head to another appy hour on the beach and bid farewell to our new cruising friends until we see them in the Acklins or the Jumentos.
Life is good. We are back at Ti Amo getting the dingy up on the davits and trying to put away a few things before our early morning departure.
