Little Harbor Long Island to Landrail Point Crooked Island
05 February 2019 | Little Harbor, Long Island
A better day than before......at least there was no rain and the winds stayed between 7 and 15 knots. It made for a better day down below as well as at the helm.
We left after going into the grocery at Clarence Town. Tim and Karen picked Laurie and I up so we could have a look at the store and also just get us on land for a moment. It was an easy ride in and out and the grocery store was clean.....I mean spotless. It is not often I will refer to a store that way but this one just had a sense of pride about it that was a bit refreshing. Getting to see the goats and baby chicks was a plus. Great place to stop.
By 10:30am we were on our way to Little Harbor which is the last harbor on the eastern side of Long Island. It is a secluded harbor surrounded by gorgeous beaches. We immediately hopped into our dinghies after setting the anchors and scoot toward the beach with Jaxon. He was a wild man in the sand and surf.
I did my usual search for sea beans and found two heart beans. Karen, Tim and Poppy came and Karen found one as well. It is quite sad at the amount of trash on the beach. Not trash like bags or cans you might see in the states, this is trash from ship wrecks or from folks loosing things over the side of their boat while sailing. It has washed up here over the years but there is no one here to clean it up.
On to 2 Outrageous we all go for a planning meeting.......I think we are determined to have one of these where we actually come away from it with a plan. LOL....we all get side tracked easily and then we go home without a plan but not today. We have a plan of "wheels up" at 0700 and on to Landrail Point, Crooked Island. There is snorkeling and hunting as well as groceries and restaurants. Sounds like a plan to me.
