The Boat Delivers
08 February 2019
I cannot remember a time EVER that I was excited about grocery shopping, but I can say it now. It was like Christmas walking into the store with every isle blocked by boxes of products waiting to be put on the shelves.
My only concern was the produce and dairy department and I could have shopped for hour as I was making my decisions about what would last and what I would actually use. you have to be careful not to OVER buy as you don’t want to spend five dollars on a cantaloupe only to see it go bad on you.
With groceries all bagged up, we make the trek back to the dinghy and then back to Ti Amo where there is a lot of rearranging of items to be done so that I can utilize my refrigeration to the max.
Greg worked on making water and then changing out the impeller on the generator. The generator was overheating and when he pulled the impeller out it was the obvious culprit as it had been spitting out water just fine. The impeller had several veins that had been chewed up or lets say “missing”. We were suprised it worked at all after seeing how bad it looked. Anyhow another fine job by the captain in diagnosing and repairing.
I busied myself with hard boiling eggs and making blueberry bread for breakfasts this week. Milk is only bought in a box down this way and it is something we have not become accustomed to so we are trying to make our last 1/2 gallon last so Greg is eating a little less cereal these days.
Brats, peppers, onions for dinner followed by discussions of our adventures for tomorrow. It is our hope to get to French Wells but it looks as though we will break apart from Grace V and 2 Outrageous for a couple of days.
