A new look
18 February 2019 | Hog Cay, Jumentos
After a trip to the beach and some hunters returning with empty hands, the flotilla decided to up anchor and move to Hog Cay.
A lovely little sail just nine miles up the road. Time enough to enjoy lunch as we make our way to the anchorage.
We now have Migration (Charlie), 2 Outrageous (Paul and Laurie), Delphina (Christoph & Stacey) and Ti Amo (yours truly). So in deciding upon an anchorage with four boats coming in, you really hope there are not too many in the anchorage already. Luckily most of the anchorages along the Jumentos are pretty wide open. Luckily probably is not the best choice of words because it is those open anchorages that don’t allow protection in bad weather and they only have east and southeast protection from winds.
We all carry a drink to the Hog Cay Club (tiki hut built by cruisers which I might add withstood the peril of Joaquin). Mark on Truant has brought his guitar and harmonicas as well as Paul on Rush N Blue. We are singing and having a great time when the Green Flash alert comes. We all wait to see the sun hit the horizon to see if we will capture the green flash. Most did, but it is only for a second so if you were late in seeing it you will have to wait for another night.
Back to Ti Amo for dinner and clean up before boaters midnight.
