Where does the day go
19 February 2019 | Hog Cay, Jumentos
It seems that we should have plenty of time on our hands and every day I tell myself I am going to account for all of my time .......but there is no time to sit and log. When in a flotilla, there are other folks jockeying for your time as well as the needs of your own crew and boat.
Yesterday we went for a nice long walk on the Atlantic side of the island. There are paths marked with different items that have floated up on the beach. Someone actually takes time to make a path for all to get from one side to the other. It is such fun to folllow the markers and see just where you end up.
After combing the beaches and getting frustrated by the lack of sea beans, up pops a hamburger bean right before me. Laurie was about twenty yards ahead of me and she found one and seriously twenty yards ahead of her Stacey hollers she found one as well. How crazy is that? A huge success to have everyone find one.
Back to the boat for lunch and then getting ready for the 4:00 appy hour at the Hog Cay Yacht Club. Bernie maintains the area is busily planting coconut palms when we arrive on shore. We have ten boats in the anchorage and three guitar players ...... it made for an enjoyable evening. Andre’ has brought pizza he made on board, we took in kielbasa bites and mustard, Laurie made her fish spread and there were some other things to enjoy as well. The evening passed quickly as the sun was down and darkness filled the anchorage with only the lights on the masts to guide a sailor home. What a life!
