Black Point to Big Majors
16 March 2019 | Big Majors, Exumas
We are up and ready to tackle the day. Greg and Barry are going to work on our chart plotter issue and Robin and I are carrying towels to the laundromat. When I arrive at Crossroads, Robin is ready with bags in hand and we were off across the choppy anchorage to the laundromat dock. The dock is pretty high up and under real choppy conditions it is not easy to load and unload laundry but we managed fine with the help of a gentleman who held our line.
With two loads running, Robin and I head to the town dock to toss our trash away and stretch our legs a bit. Once we are back at the laundromat it is time to dry and we then get to sit at that wonderful dock and watch the boats come and go. Twilight Traveler arrived sometime yesterday evening and just as Robin and are are packing up the fresh laundry and heading back to the boat there is this guy yelling at me.....and he is holding a dog? LOL....it was Ron on Twilight Traveler. His sister and husband are with them for a week and sure enough around the corner comes Vicky with the rest of the gang. We sat and chatted a bit about the trip and about plans for returning home.
Back at Ti Amo we find that the boys were not as successful as we but we have a functioning chart plotter and that is the main thing. So we grab a bite of lunch and then pick up the anchor and head towards Staniel Cay and Big Majors. Slightly crowded is the anchorage, but there is still plenty of room for Crossroads and Ti Amo. Once the anchors are down, we head out in the dinghys to pig beach, the cruisers beach and then to see Fowl Cay and take the back side of the Majors to Staniel Cay and then back home. We grab some refrehements and head to the cruisers beach.
Jaxon made friends with three other dogs.......okay that is a stretch. Jaxon irritated one yorkie and the two schnauzers probably irritated him a bit. We met several cruisers and enjoyed a couple of tosses at the corn hole game. Once the dinner hour struck, we retreat to our boats and call it a day. Jaxon is fast asleep as he has been running non stop for over an hour. The batteries must have given out and needed a charge. He is too funny! Oh yes and Robin won at the corn hole game (if we were keeping score) but with a little practice I think the rematch will look a little different.
