Great Guana Cay
14 April 2019 | Great Guana Cay, Abacos, Bahamas
With just a short ride from Man O War, we weigh anchor at 10:00 and head to Great Guana Cay. Great Guana is home of Nippers, the famous restaurant and bar on the beach that boasts about their Sunday pig roast. We won’t be around for the pigs demise but we will enjoy a bit today of their libations and the beach.
Before going to Nippers though, we are anchored right outside of Grabbers, one of the other restaurant on this Cay. It faces the sea of Abaco and has hammocks, a pool, restaurant and bar. We stop for a quick drink to thank them for allowing us to anchor our dinghy on their shoreline.
Next we stop at a couple of shops to see the new season t-shirts and such and then continue on to the ocean where we find Nippers. Lynn is loving the water so she is heading to the beach while the boys await our drinks. The number of folks grows as the lunch hour is upon us. One gentleman at the bar was sporting a shirt I think I need to get, “I don’t need therapy, I just need to go sailing”. I think this has been one of our more relaxing trips as we have gained confidence in the seas and our ability to read the water and trust what Ti Amo can do.
Lynn, Greg and I play a little in the pool before calling it a day at Nippers. We head back to Ti Amo where dinner is very light as we had a late lunch. And yet another day is done.
