Departures and Arrivals

Departing is never easy. “Have we forgotten anything?”, “Did you check....?”, and the many other questions as you put off the inevitable moment. We have arranged Taxi Number 8 to pick Thom and Lynn up at the Union Jock Dinghy Dock at 11:30 am. There are the last bloody Mary’s, the last pets with Jaxon, the last hugs and then the last wave goodbye. Great time with those two......they really get the sailing life and are always a joy to have.
On to the grocery store we meander to pick up what will be our final provisioning trip. We have found that Saturday evening opens up a four day window for us to get as close to home as we can. Of course many of you are aware that we have kept our boat at Regent Point Marina for about 30 years, and this year we are electing to terminate that relationship and find Ti Amo a new home.
So we will set our sights on leaving Saturday evening and head for Norfolk but will cut the trip short of that if the weather takes any drastic turns. This is the first trip across the ocean where we will be able to receive weather forecasts as we have an Iridium Go Satellite device that will enable us to receive emails. That is a nice piece of equipment to have when things can change so rapidly.
So we heard from Thom and Lynn that they were picking up their baggage and back home in Philadelphia. Another day comes to a close.
