After the morning weather forecast we await our email from Chris Parker to find out the routing for our trip home. Chris is our go to source for weather and conditions in the Bahamas as well as the Atlantic and the eastern coast of the United States. He gives a weather forecast in the morning over single side band radio and then a webcast as well. His forecast is for the “area” of the Bahamas and when we get closer to home, he will switch us back to the eastern coastal states.
So we are between two areas and need to know what it will be like in the U.S. along the coast by Thursday and that is where our detailed forecast and mapping from Chris comes in. He does a great job of routing you taking into consideration the wind speed, the current, the wave action and the squalls. So.....he has us using the Gulf Stream up to Moorehead City but getting out of it by Thursday afternoon.
So we are off this morning after watching a beautiful sunrise for the Atlantic and hope to be in Moorehead City if not further by Thursday. We will let you know how we do!
And if you happen to know him.....today is Mark W.K. Fetty’s birthday! Harass him for me!
