glenda groome
Oriental has become quite a stop for us.
With a morning walk to the Piggly Wiggly Grocery store, we are stocked with fresh vegetables, turkey, yogurt and bottled waters. Piggly Wiggly offers a shuttle that will drive you back to the marina so we loaded up with extra gallon bottles of water.
When we returned and had completed unloading groceries, our dear friends whom we met on our first voyage to the Bahamas, Harry and Finola met us at the marina. They live here in Oriental and have since we last saw them in 2016, sold their sailboat and have been traveling and "living the life". It was great to catch up with them and share stories.
While bidding farewell to Harry and Finola, we eyed Spartina, (Pete and Dixon) entering the harbor. After a quick lunch we took Jaxon for a walk over to welcome Pete and Dixon to Oriental.
The wind is picking up and the temperature is dropping so we head back to Ti Amo to get some chores done before it gets too bad. Greg is busy filling the water tanks while I take a load of clothes to the marina laundromat. The rain is coming and we quickly take cover and turn the heat on as the temperature drops pretty quickly.
We are hoping to leave early tomorrow morning and get further south on the ICW before more bad weather comes our way on Friday and Saturday.
