glenda groome
The agenda of the day is to get to the Winn Dixie in town to pick up some fresh greens and a few other items. We are trying to schedule our arrival into Tavernier for the weekend so we can get settled for the coming week. Even though that is just a day or two out, my refrigerator can only hold enough for about a week. So this grocery run will be the last until the final provisioning next week in Key Largo.
We got to go aboard Arion for a look at a 42 Kady Krogen. Al and Arleen purchased her three years ago. The boat was stunning. Many things to like about the Kady Krogen but then all trawlers have something we sailboaters desire.....space. We left their boat and headed over to Next Dance, a 48 foot Kady Krogen. Richard and Lisa took us on a tour and again I am in love with all the space. While the age difference between the two in over a decade, you could not tell it by the care taken of each vessel. They were both heading to the Bahamas around noon so we said our farewells and wished them well as we headed back to Ti Amo for lunch before heading in to purchase groceries.
We were so excited to run into Jazzy Lady. Mark and his crew arrived into No Name Harbor about mid day. He is the nephew to Allan and Bev Gray from Dagny. If you have followed this blog for a couple of years, Allan and Bev crossed to Bimini with us our second year to the Bahamas. Mark purchased his boat last year and he and his wife and two beautiful children are down here this year and making this crossing Friday morning. What a good looking crew....Megan (mom) Annie and Allister paid us a visit on Ti Amo while Mark was out purchasing some parts he needed for the boat. The children are 7 and 10....great ages to be making this trip. We wish them well and hope to see them in Georgetown.
Off to prepare dinner and stow remaining dry goods away. Tomorrow will be a chore day! And so the sun sets!
