However you say it......we are here....our final destination and our home away from home.
Our headsail was out and it was a beautiful day on the water. We commented that we should have been going to the Bahamas with the wind direction we had. As we near Rodrigues Key, I knew it would not be too much longer. We got on the road at about 0830 and hoped to be in Tavernier by 1600 hours.
At 1500 hours we are making the trek up the channel and through the canal that leads us to Heart Harbor. There in the distance we see Ed and Mari-Etta waving us in. We are back on the front of the house where their boat, Fancy Free is usually tied up, but she is now in the canal beside their house. Our old resident spot in front of the train has a catamaran sitting there that is getting worked on.
With the lines all tied and fenders all set there is a party at 1700 hours over at the train and we are invited. Burgers, brats, coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad and all the fixings and then of course dessert. A great group of folks who are all pretty much headed to Panama or Guatemala. Greg and I feel our sailing itinerary is somewhat small when we hear of all the places these folks have been.
A great way to end the evening as we hear all the tall tales before heading back to Ti Amo to call it a night. One last celebration is for Jaxon as he has been the best little guy. He really is doing pretty good now that I am following a regimen of getting him prepared before we start the engine and get moving.
