Up at 0600 hours, Greg has taken the laptop up to the house and is setting up to listen to Chris Parkers forecast and ask the question about our crossing opportunity. I on the other hand busy myself waiting for my morning coffee as Greg is the connoisseur of coffee, I dare not try to make it without his recipe.

Shortly after 0700 Greg returns with laptop in hand. The suspense is killing me.....do we stay or do we go? Leaving would mean getting out of Tavernier today out to Rodriguez Key and awaiting Tuesday at noon.

According to Chris, yes there is an opportunity to cross between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon however......when we arrive we need to be prepared for 5-6 days of 30-40 knot winds out of the north. We can get there, we just cannot move once we get there. Hmmm. With that we make our decision to talk with Ed and Mari-Etta and ask about staying till the next window. Of course they are wonderful and as Mari-Etta would say....EIWP.....everything is working perfectly. We are good to stay as long as needed, even if it means we are here for Christmas.

Deflated a bit that we are not Bahamas bound, we take the day to start waxing. Greg is working from the dinghy on the hull and I am in the cockpit working on the nav station and the combing. I then move on to the stanchions and boy this baby is shining. We worked on opposite sides so tomorrow we will flip and eat the other half done.

Shower time, wind down time and then a little dinner and television fill the remainder of the day.
