20 December 2019 | Key Largo, FL
We woke to a pretty rainy day. Not much to do on a day like that but hunker down in the "bunker" and read, do a few chores or glue yourself to the television.
We still needed to make a run to West Marine to get a hose to help complete the generator raw pump installation. Seems the old hose was deteriorating a bit so while in the area and we have a rental car, lets get it done.
Greg and I have been checking out boats here and there as we see boats we like. After being on Andre Martel's 50 foot Lagoon, we have been "eyeing" anything from 45 to 50 just to see what they have to offer. We know how much space Andre had and we really love the space.....especially on days like today when you are limited due to the rain and wind. As luck would have it there is a Lagoon 450S on the way to West Marine for sale. We had called to see if we could get on it but the broker is 4 hours away so we at least stopped by to have a look at the outside. You know we love Ti Amo so it has got to have everything we want to walk away from her. It is sort of like you are always in search of your next house? Looking for the things yours does not have. Well just from what we could see from the outside, it was not what we had seen on the 50, it was quite different and it at least settled in our heads that we made the right decision in not seeing the broker. Lovely boat but just not for us.
On to West Marine we go in search of hose and ......yes if you own a boat you are in search of any new technology or a wax that is better than the last. Maybe they have something new for the galley. It is Christmas time after all.
Speaking of Christmas.....we have our tree up and hope you have yours up as well. Every day I look at it and I feel the joy, love, peace that comes from my belief of Christmas. Thank you Robin for our tree.
It is raining pretty good now and the winds have kicked up to over 20 knots back here in our little haven. It is gusting close to 30 knots when Greg and I jump out to secure more fenders for the night. We are up against the piling and getting blown into them with each gust so we double up on the one that is the most vulnerable. We will rest better!
