Coral Harbour

With news of impending gale force winds, we leave Cabbage Cay for Coral Harbour. Coral Harbour is a little known hideaway on the backside of Nassau proper. We had heard of it through our friends Juan and Alison and No Limits had heard of it as well. This lovely couple, Nick and Carol open their dock space to allow folks to tie up to get out of harms way. It reminded Greg and I of our Key Largo passage into the quarry but this was on a larger scale tucked deeper inside a community. With a spot for cruisers to hang out and trash instructions, water, a shower if needed, this place is a great hurricane hole. We rafted up with 2 Outrageous while No Limits rafted to a large trawler.
The girls were in search of the beach pretty quickly as there in nothing quite as calming as looking for sea glass or sea beans. With little success on the items we were searching for, the beach was gorgeous. We saw a small ray and a turtle or two.
Back at the boats, the boys are making their plans and it seems we can get to Shroud Cay before the next threat of wind Wednesday evening. We go to the cruisers hangout to have happy hour with our host Nick. He was a chartered accountant that came from London in the 1960's. His company sent him here and he has been here long enough to have a "long term resident" status. It takes special people to off this to folks and we are glad we have found this hideaway.
With thoughts of leaving in the morning we head to our boats for dinner. Laurie and Paul offer us to eat with them as they had caught a wahoo on the journey over as had No Limits. With the end of a lovely dinner we call it a night and make preparations for an early morning departure.
