Last Day on Long Island

31 January 2020 | Thompson Bay, Long Island, Bahamas

We have decided to return the rental car and then stop by the grocery store for fresh milk that was to come in on the boat yesterday. So by 9:00 we are back in on land doing our last little bit of walking and enjoying Thompsons Bay.

Back at Ti Amo we pack our goodies away and then begin the few chores we have for the day. I am refreshing our “go to” food inventory which means I will have to get into the steering quadrant and the transom to pull items out of long term storage. It is hard to believe we have been out for about three months and we are still in pretty good shape. We will probably carry home some stuff that I had planned on using for appys as most folks this year are cutting back on the appy hour. Thank goodness!

Greg is making water and filling up all my drinking water bottles. During that time that the generator is running, we try to make sure we are using it wisely. We make sure the hot water heater is on and that we run the air for a little bit to help dry things in the boat. The dampness we get during the night leaves things moist so we hope to cut down on the ugly mold and mildew that can creep in because of moisture.

With chores completed and hot water what comes next is a nice HOT shower followed by some “chill” time in the cockpit. Dinner will be one of Greg’s favorites, brats with peppers and onions over rice. Hillside Supply just happened to have brats and fresh peppers while I was shopping today.

Back to George Town tomorrow with thoughts of getting laundry done and hopefully getting to Prime Island Meats prior to our month long trip to the Jumentos.
