Back in George Town
02 February 2020 | Kidd Cove, George Town, Exumas, Bahamas
This year has been our sailing year in the Bahamas. With a quick exchange with Grace of food and pleasantries before we left, we hoisted the anchor and headed for George Town.
We had a perfect beam reach with winds ranging from 15 to 22 knots. We don’t get that many days to really enjoy not hearing the rumble of an engine. We were reading our charts, our books and just relaxing at the sound of the waves as we cut through them.
With another “blow” due to come in at night from the west, northwest and then north to east, we wanted to get into a protected anchorage. The worst of the storm should be between 2 am and 6 am. So we anchor at Kidd Cove once again and ride out one more blow.
We have a leisurely evening as we await the blow and decide to call it an early evening as we know our morning may turn to be earlier than normal.
