Hitching a Ride
04 February 2020 | Volleyball Beach, Stocking Island, George Town, Exumas, Bahamas
Two things are on my mind this morning as I skype with my dad at 6:00 am. I want to be in the laundry mat when they open at 7 and then I want to go to Prime Island Meats. The laundry mat can be crowded during the day and it is not like the laundry at Black Point. There is no scenic view or patio outside to sit and watch the water. No....it is inland and it is reminds me of all the reasons I don’t like to do laundry. Ms Lee runs a clean ship however and it is pleasant to talk with she or any one of her family members who might be working.
Once laundry was done, we run into our dear friends on River Rat and make a plan to go to Prime Island meats once they return from the laundry mat. Greg is going to go with Deb and I as we try to hitch a ride to the market. I have to say that the folks here are super nice and within less than a quarter mile we were in a young ladies car talking with her about her desires to move to Vancouver of all places. She wants to go where it is cold and we are escaping to where it is warm. Such a lovely person, she is going there to get her degree in early childhood education. Once shopping is completed, we are outside the store where Greg eyes a bright red Chevy pickup with a king cab and asks if he is headed back to town. Bam.....we are in like Flynn. Back to the boats we go with chicken breasts, ground beef, grouper, snapper and turkey breast. It was a great shopping trip.
So with lunch done, we decide to move Ti Amo across the harbor in front of the Peace and Plenty Beach bar. Deb and Carl meet us there for a burger for dinner and we enjoy people watching for a bit. We follow them back to River Rat where Jaxon and Hannah get to meet.each other. Hannah is Carl and Deb’s cat. Hannah was not impressed with Jaxon even though he attempted to show off for her. Too cute.
Back to Ti Amo for boaters midnight.....8:00!
