Happy Thanksgiving

26 November 2020 | Fernandina Beach, Fl

Here is to a healthy a and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

There are some many things to be thankful for but none more important than life itself! I have been fortunate to experience so many different things in my life and with each experience I have encountered and made more friends.

Today is one of those days that Greg and I would have been content eating alone on our boat, but a friend we met our second year cruising, Charlie Gaines invited us to his Thanksgiving feast. Charlie was an owner of a Caliber 40 which is what our first boat was. We met him at Kidd Cove off of Great Exuma in the Bahamas. That was the same day we met 2 Outrageous. They were actually traveling together and allowed us to tag along and join them in our first trip to the Jumentos and the Raggeds. What a great experience and time for us all!
And now we are dining together on a Thanksgiving at Charlie's moms home in Fernandina, Florida. His mom and his girlfriend Teri have baked pies and made a huge feast. Okay truth be known, Teri and Charlie cooked The beast and Teri all the sides complete with mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, and gravy. Charlie's mom (Wanda) baked four pies, pecan and pumpkin and made collard greens. We had a huge feast and are just so grateful for the opportunity to spend with friends.
We FaceTimed with some family and chatted with a couple others. Sounds like everyone had a healthy, safe and happy day.
