With an early morning start to beat the tide and current, we bid farewell to Charlie and Teri. They have been great hosts and it is difficult to say good bye but we hope to see them out on the water later in the winter.
We are off to set anchor in the harbor at Fernandina, drop the dinghy and head to shore for lunch at the waterfront. We sit and soak up the warmth and sun while Jaxon sits and soaks up all the attention. What a ham!
The town is quite busy with Black Friday shopping. The locals know that some stores are giving an extra 10% off if you wear your Christmas pajamas to shop in. There were I would say over half of the crowd in their pjs. We even ran into Charlie and Teri doing a little shopping.
The shops were a little too crowded for me but I did slip into a few stores to get my “fix”. We then went back to the waterfront to people and boat watch.
Dinner and bedtime will be early as we are planning to head further south on the ocean towards St. Augustine in the morning.
